Cover-All Building Ideal for Variety of Activities
A passion for riding and instruction drives Easterton Farm to offer various equine services including equestrian vaulting. Ann and Peter Hunt run Easterton Farm which hosts riding lessons and instruction by Ann who is a vaulting instructor, chairperson of British Equestrian Vaulting, and a retired veterinary surgeon. A new Cover-All building is now located on the farm, home to the magnificent scenery of the Perthshire countryside. After researching the building technology and seeing it in operation at another site, the Hunt's decided to purchase a Cover-All building. "This building is a new concept that captures the imagination. It has a 'wow' factor," says Peter Hunt.
The 72' x 144' (21.9m x 43.8m) Cover-All® indoor riding facility will be used for a number of equestrian services in addition to the vaulting. These include lunge work, schooling of young horses, dressage coaching, jumping, and courses for coaching qualifications. This modern structure will go on to benefit Easterton Farm by the ability to use the building for falconry displays, indoor polo, leisure and corporate entertainment. "The light, ample space and high ceilings provide a fresh approach to creating a conducive atmosphere for various leisure activities," says Peter. "We're very impressed with the building so far."
The design of the Cover-All® building includes a 14' x 14' (4.2m x 4.2m) sliding door and an emergency exit at one end. The 5-foot (1.5m) high purpose built timber kickboard and aggregate base covered with grit sand and recycled rubber tyres provided the finishing touches on the facility. "We also feel the building will benefit our business now that we have seen the overall reaction of people viewing our facility for the first time, they are well impressed at the structure," shares Peter. "Visitors to our building are blown away! They are amazed at the spacious feel, abundance of light and the very best view of any arena in Scotland looking towards Ben Vorlich. Our master falconer is also over the moon with the facility!"
"The sound carries well but remains quiet in the rain. And we have no problem with the high winds we get here in Easterton," says Peter. "Our Cover-All Dealer (Ben Sanderson of Penderfeed) has been very helpful. The electricity bills will likely be lower than expected due to the natural light and low lighting required at night. The Cover-All will truly be the centrepiece of the expansion of our Equestrian and Leisure business!"
