Cover-All Keeps NV Equine Running 365 Days A Year

In 1996, Gary and Sandy Vickrey moved to Cedaredge, CO to grow their passion for horses into a riding and training business. With their full-time instruction, the Vickrey's couldn't afford to be dependent on the weather.

"We were beginning to do a lot of lessons and host various clinics but we would often have some sort of weather event that would force cancellations. The constant canceling and rescheduling was interfering with other clients and negatively impacting our business. Appointment cancellations are a loss of income; it was very evident that we needed an indoor riding arena so we could train on a regular basis and continue to grow our clientele. Cover-All was the answer," says Gary.

"Our first experience riding in a Cover-All building was while attending a Parelli Natural Horse-Man-Ship seminar," says Sandy."The Cover-All building at the Parelli ranch provided ample room to work with a horse. We were impressed with the quality of the building and the beautiful natural interior environment."

After the Parelli seminar it wasn't long before the Vickrey's contacted Rocky Arnott of Cover-All Space, a Cover-All dealer in Colorado. "One of the unique qualities of a Cover-All building is that it''s like you've got sunshine inside the building which is a tremendous feature for riding and training," says Arnott.

The Vickrey's arena is a 110' wide x 200' long Cover-All TITAN® building. Only six days were required to fully install the 22,000 square foot riding arena. "We were very impressed with how efficient the building was put up," says Sandy. "In less than a week we were riding indoors."

Prior to discovering Cover-All, the Vickrey's researched various metal building manufacturers. "In all honesty, we weren't too enthused about riding in a metal building," says Gary. "All the metal building riding arenas we toured had three things in common - they were dark, damp and depressing. The buildings weren't horse friendly and the interior environment just wasn't natural which is very important to us."

The biggest benefit the Cover-All riding has provided to the Vickrey's is stability in scheduling training seminars and clinics. "Since this building has been up we've had no cancellations, which is exactly what we hoped for. There have been many days since this building has been up that we've had nothing but rain and wind and I would normally have gone home in disgust. I don't like to ride when it's windy, raining and cold," says Gary. "Now we can ride indoors year-round and still have the benefits of natural daylight without the nasty weather. When we have extreme heat, the Cover-All is like a big shade tree. Our Cover-All arena is bright and cheerful. It allows us the comfort and opportunity to go beyond our goals everyday. Unquestionably, our business will grow because of our Cover-All. We're making more progress and our horses are making more progress. I''m overwhelmingly happy; I''m a number 10 on a scale of one to 10," he concludes.
