Cover-All The Building Solution for Indoor Riding Arenas
When considering the aspects of a perfect interior environment, horse professionals from all riding disciplines have chosen Cover-All Building Systems as the building of choice for both horse and rider. Cover-All® buildings are pre-engineered, clear-span, fabric membrane covered buildings. The benefits of natural light, peaceful atmosphere, clear-span riding space, as well as a year round comfortable riding environment are easily achieved in a Cover-All® indoor riding arena.
Liz Morris from North Ailey Farm in Argyll recently purchased a 15.2m (50') wide by 29.2m (96') long Cover-All® Legend® riding arena. Previous to owning this new indoor arena, the outdoor school was only operational for three months of the year due to weather conditions. North Ailey Farm now has a facility to ride in all year round.
"Since we put up the Cover-All arena I have noticed a significant improvement in the horses' performance," says Liz. "This is a direct result of being able to ride our horses in all conditions, they are being worked more and are naturally improving. The natural light in our arena is a big bonus and because the environment is so light and airy there is less noise distraction, the horses are more focused and the riders feel safe."
Liz Morris is extremely impressed that the building is much cooler inside during hot weather. When it rains heavily, she has found the fabric to be much quieter than traditional metal panel roofs. "Overall our horses are extremely happy in the new Cover-All riding arena," says Liz. "The acoustics are excellent and I will purchase a much bigger building next time!"
As a result of the natural light and ventilation in a Cover-All® building, the electrical requirements for lighting are minimal, resulting in initial mechanical and electrical cost savings. What this means to horse and rider is a wonderful indoor riding environment that can be enjoyed 365 days a year with lower operating costs.
Cover-All® Legend® buildings are available in widths from 5.4m (18') to 24.9m (82') constructed to any length and are manufactured in an ISO 9001:2000 certified manufacturing facility. "In North America, Cover-All buildings are in widespread use for private and commercial equine activities," says Matthew Fortnum, Fortnum and Woolley Ltd., the authorized Cover-All® dealer who constructed the facility for Liz Morris. "Cover-All is set to become a genuine alternative to traditional buildings on this side of the Atlantic."
